December activities

Sophie wrote a letter to Santa this year and was so excited to put it in the mail box. However, each time she see's another toy that she likes - she wants to send another letter! I keep reminding her that Santa can't bring everything she wants!

We made "gingerbread" houses one night. I saw the gingerbread house kits you buy at the store and decided to just do it the old fashioned way and make my own. For some reason the gingerbread I made didn't turn out so well (I think I didn't cover it good enough in the fridge so it was too dry by morning) and we ended up using graham crackers instead. Next year, I'm buying that kit! (A picture is not included of Nora because she was decorating in her diaper)
The girls and I have all taken turns being sick this week (Nora on Friday, me on Tuesday, and Sophie on Thursday) The day I was sick the girls were so cute and "cleaned" the kitchen for me and did the dishes - which consisted of taking the clean dishes out of the dishwasher and stacking them underneath the table or putting them in the sink with the dirty dishes and "washing" them. It was so sweet of them. They also kept bringing me big glasses of water and telling me I could just lay down and rest. I love my girls!

Here is a recent picture of our Christmas tree. It changes each day because Sophie has taken it upon herself to find new things to decorate it with each day. As you can see it currently has stuffed animals, Christmas ribbon, and one string of popcorn around the top. Luckily I am not a picky tree person and don't really mind how my tree is decorated, I think it looks very creative!

I hope you're all feeling better soon, it's no fun to be sick, but your girls are so sweet. That's very cute. I hope they get a little brother to baby. I love your stuffed animal tree, that's so funny!

It has been a while since I've had a chance to spend some time on the computer so I finally got a chance to check out your blog again. Sophie looks so much older in the picture with her gingerbread house. Such fun pictures (all of them for the past month or so that I am just now seeing). I love Christmas time! Glad to see you are doing well. We arrived in HI late last night (well 7:30 pm here, but I believe that is 12:30 am out there, not sure though). I will update our blog soon, just haven't had a chance to take pictures yet. We are doing well though and glad to finally set in one place for a couple months at least, sort of tired of the traveling. We send our love. We also just got your newsletter and picture. So cute!

Your girls are the sweetest. I am sure it created work for you, but the thought of them taking care of you and letting you rest is so precious. I hope you are feeling well now. I am not a picky tree person either - my mother-in-law keeps giving me expensive ornaments and I really would rather she not...I know, spoiled, but I don't want to have a tree that my kids can't touch. I love Sophies decorations.
