And baby makes five!

We are excited to announce that we are expecting Baby Phillips Number 3! He/She will be here sometime at the end of January/first of February. Sophie is excited to have a new baby in our family and is hoping for another girl, but mom and dad will be happy either way!

Sophie turned 4 on the 28th of July! We had a birthday party at our house with some friends and family on the 25th. We were planning on having a water party outside but we had a big rainstorm so we ended up in the playroom where I work. It was still fun! I can't believe how fast the time has gone and how much she has grown! She is so fun to have in our family. I love having her around as my little helper and having conversations with her because she says the funniest things! She is one spunky girl and you know what, I hope that never changes!

Mozart?

Nora sat down at our digital piano while Brian had it on the "demo" mode. It was playing a beautiful song and Nora looked so proud of herself as she sat and "played" it! Cute girl.

A few weeks ago we got together with all of Brian's family out at Riverdale for a family camp out. We had a great time together floating the river, watching the kids dig for treasure in the sandbox, soaping up on the slip and slide and just being together. We will definitely miss weekends like this in Michigan!

A Day Out With Daddy

This past Saturday was my last Saturday of work, which meant it was Brian' s last full Saturday alone with the girls. He decided to go out with a bang so he took the girls down to Ogden to the Treehouse Museum. They spent almost 6 hours there and only left because the girls were hungry and tired! Then they went to Wendy's (our favorite) and Brian splurged and bought them each their own kids meal (we are usually a dollar menu family!) and then stopped at Target and let the girls pick something. Sophie picked a toy tiger and Nora picked lip gloss! They had a fun day together. They are lucky girls to have such a wonderful daddy!

A Princess Tea Party

Last month my side of the family all got together for the first time in way too long! So of course my mom had to plan something BIG for all her grandchildren. And what do little girls like better than princesses and tea parties?? Not much. So a princess tea party was planned for the girls and a pirate treasure hunt was planned for the boys. Those of you who know my mom know that she doesn't do anything half way. The tea party included handmade princess dresses (by my mom) for each girl, personalized tea cups, a purse full of princess items (tiaras, bracelets, lipstick, etc..) and a guest appearance by Cinderella who taught them some lovely dance moves, how to curtsy and even joined the girls for tea! The girls were dazzled and I'm sure will never forget it! The boys had their own kind of fun starting at my mom and john's house and had a treasure hunt that led them to the top of the mountain behind my mom's house where they dug up a real treasure box (buried earlier by my mom and john). It was full of pirate stuff like swords, gold coins, bones, and all kinds of pirate loot. It was a fun day for all, my girls are sure lucky to have such a wonderful Naunie and Grandpa.

No More Naps???

For the past (almost) two years Nora has been an ANGEL at bedtime. As long as she has her binky, her blanky and a stuffed animal she would lay right down and not make a sound before falling asleep. The last month that has changed! She will still lay right down in her crib around 7:45 , but two hours later she would still be awake, and of course keeping Sophie awake as well. So on Sunday Brian and I decided we would try to skip naptime and put her to bed at 7:30 and see what happens. I am kind of sad because it has worked for 3 nights in a row and I'm not sure I am ready for nap time to end!! It means two things, 1: don't get a 2 hour break during the day and 2: my baby girl is growing up! I guess it is for the best, although someday I am hoping for one of those kids that will take naps until they are at least 3!

Happy Day! It has been a busy month but I am now ready to spread the news that we have jumped on the BLOG bandwagon and are loving it! Thanks to my sister-in-law Emily Ann and my friends Cathie and Jill for showing me the light! :)
