We've gotten a lot of snow here in the last few weeks - Sophie's had two days off of school because of it! Yesterday was one of the snow days and by afternoon we all had a bit of cabin fever and the kids were fighting and grumpy, so we bundled up and headed in the backyard. We made this double entrance fort - that has a tunnel connecting the entrances. It ended up looking much like a nose but the kids have had a great time playing in it. The neighbors joined us soon after it was done and they all loved playing family in it. Then they decorated it with squirt bottles of water and food coloring. Miles was outside for a long time helping as well, but he didn't get in the picture because he was out with me when I didn't have my camera. It was a fun afternoon! And even though I'm dreaming of Spring I am trying to enjoy the last of winter!
{oh please, please be the last! please?}

* NO nasty sippy cups lurking underneath the car seats. If they are there, they're frozen. Yay!
* Along those same lines - crayons left in the car don't melt on the seat/floor and make a mess.
* I can go grocery shopping and make other stops if I need to and not worry about the cold stuff staying cold!
* My kids in snuggly, fuzzy pajamas.* Along those same lines - crayons left in the car don't melt on the seat/floor and make a mess.

* Hot cocoa with Reddi-whip for me and marshmallows for the kids. Yum.
* Warm comfort food. Double Yum.
* Getting exercise while playing outside with the kids! My arms were seriously sore the next day after building that fort!

This little piggy went to market... So your fort totally looks like a pig nose, so fun! Too bad we don't have snow like that right now and also that my kids have colds, not so much fun.
I used to build igloos/snow forts all the time! Oh the joys of being a kid...
I'll second the pleading that this is the last of winter. Why does the groundhog always have to see his shadow?
Holy cow. That fort is awesome. That is the kind of fort that they will remember when they are teenagers. So cool!
Awesome fort. what a fun day. Your list reminds me of that book we used to read. Tear water tea. Looks like a lot of snow. Have fun!
wow! I never made a snow fort... now I'm almost tempted. :)
I'm glad one of us is enjoying all of this snow!! ;) Awesome fort! Looks like fun!
Wow, that snow tunnel is pretty impressive! I'm sure the kids loved it! I can't believe all the snow you guys have...I have to say that I am NOT jealous :) We've hardly had any snow all winter. My kids went to the park and rode their bikes with Andy yesterday while I was at work. I'm not trying to rub it in or anything though;)
Yesterday I overheard my girls playing in their room, they were pretending to be Sophie and Nora - we miss you guys!
That is impressive! Food coloring...something to remember!:O)
Wow, that is a lot of snow! I would have been jealous a month ago. Cute kiddos!
Amazing fort! So fun. That is a great list. I need to focus more on the good things about winter, because i am so ready for it to be over!!!
Holy snot that is a lot of snow!!! Leave it to Lecka to bring out the positive in everything!!! I probably would have posted the ten things I hate about snow! lol
