Easter

Easter did not go as planned this year. I really wanted to make dresses for the girls and bowties for the boys but I had forgotten that the week before Easter was the girls' Spring Break! Then Wesley was sick that week as well. So some things kind of got dropped for more important things - like having fun together and holding a sick baby. But we still had fun!
We colored eggs:

Went to our city Egg Hunt:
and had our own little egg hunt at home:
Brian took this picture before church (sun is kinda making it weird but oh well). No one had new clothes this year except Miles. I found this suit at the thrift store and almost passed it up. So glad I didn't! We did have Easter baskets with candy but I didn't even take any pictures of them! The kids got some candy and that little water table that is on our porch in this picture.
Here is Miles in his new blue pinstriped suit. He really loves it.
So grateful for Easter to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior. What a beautiful Holiday.

Spring Break!

It was so fun to have my girlies home for a week for their Spring Break! We tried to do something fun every day. We went to the zoo, to a library program, to the park and even convinced Brian to take a day off work to go hiking at Devils Lake with friends (that will be it's own post)! It was a great week and makes me excited for SUMMER VACATION! Here are some pictures of our week:

Nora and Emma at the zoo. They had their hair done the same - total coincidence.
The Polar Bear is usually sitting in his doorway with his bum out so this was pretty exciting to see him out and about.
Nora and Josh on the giant tortoise statue.
Our zoo is AWESOME! Usually zoo's that are free are pretty lame. But look at this playground area we have. We all love this place. If you come see us we will take you here :)
Wesley wasn't feeling too great but he had a fun time anyway. He loves making animal sounds lately, especially monkey and elephants sounds.
The girls spent a lot of time outside picking dandelions and gathering rocks and such.
Wesley was sick again and Brian ended up taking him in to the Urgent Care on Saturday night with an ear infection. We were glad we could give him something to help this time around. Poor baby. This was on Friday afternoon and I had barely put him down all day :(
Sophie really wanted to make some fresh squeezed lemonade during Spring Break so we got some lemons and she made it. The girls helped me do some yard work and Sophie came in to get herself a glass of "Sophie's Secret Lemonade". Sweet girl. Sophie told me once that when she puts her hair in a bun or wears an apron that she just feels like cleaning. I try to make sure she does one of those things when I need some extra help. :)
Awwww. Cute brothers.
Sophie enjoyed cuddling with Scooter during his morning nap!
Nora spends a LOT of her time in our driveway practicing her jump rope or skip it and singing songs. I love watching her out the window when she doesn't know I'm watching. I wish I could hear her songs a little better though. Love her.

Johnson visit!

Our good friends from Michigan, the Johnson family, came to visit us. Their visit was postponed a few times because they had been sick so we were excited when it worked out for them to come! We didn't tell Miles they were coming so he would be surprised when his buddies Zach and Grant pulled up. As you can see, he was pretty excited!
Just eating dinner together:
We tried letting the kids sleep together (minus the two babies). It didn't work out that well, but they had fun giving it a try!
Watching some TV together:
Reading books with Angela:
We went to our zoo:

And to our favorite Ice Cream place -Ella's Deli:

Playing Pirates:
I got to take some pictures of sweet Baby Bennett:
and I had to get a picture of Angela and I, but forgot until the morning they left when I hadn't showered or gotten ready. But oh, well. Better then no picture at all! Angela and I got to go to the thrift store together on Saturday (which is our favorite thing to do) and had fun doing some shopping.
We were so excited that they wanted to come and stay with us! We really miss living by them and seeing them every day. Angela is the sweetest person in the world and makes me feel like Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart all in one :) If you know Angela I am sure she makes you feel the same way. In fact after they left Brian said, "I don't feel like I need to give you any compliments for the next year or so since Angela has been giving you so many!" Haha!! So true. And Timmy and their three cute boys are so fun to have around. My girls think Timmy is the expert on anything gardening related (he's a soil scientist phD student) and Miles thinks Timmy knows how to fix anything in our house that is broken (he is Tim the tool man Johnson to us). Zach and Grant and Miles are the three Musketeers and chubby Bennett was so adorable. Thanks for coming Johnson family. Please come again!

Just some fun stuff.

Last Saturday Brian spent a lot of time cleaning up our yard and throwing all the leaves/grass in the garbage. I walked around the side of the house and saw this. Hmmm.....looks suspicious.
Oh, hello children. Apparently, playing in the garbage can is lots of fun! Luckily it only had the leaves and grass in it.
Nora's class held a big Dinosaur event in her classroom (it was actually on Miles' birthday but I just got the pictures off of our small camera). Nora had a lot of fun building her dinosaur diorama on the Euplocephalus. She acted as our tour guide in her classroom and taught us all about dinosaurs. Brian taught class until 530 that night so he met us at the end of it.

Someone else in our house likes Wesley's binkies just as much as he does, possibly more - any guesses who that could be? It is a hairy someone with very sharp teeth:)
Miles recently discovered real video games at our friends house. They only play on the weekend and we were there one Saturday while they were playing Kirby. Miles thought it was pretty cool! One day he was super bored and I needed to get some things done so I turned on a youtube video of Kirby and Miles used the controller to his remote control car and had a grand 15
minutes thinking he was actually playing Kirby!! Haha! I bet someday we'll get a real video game system (maybe) but for now I am glad he is happy to "play" like this.
The three "boys" just hanging out in the morning! Cute.
